Black Watch French Connexion ( Poppy )
Poppy is our latest junior and therefore at present employed only on trial. When he was young, he looked more like a cross-breed from a haggis and a pitbull but his disposition is very promising. He is a son of Tammy and of one of the best French stud dogs, Paul Houchons du Moulin de MacGregor who was bred by Ruth O’Connor. Poppy is a docile student of Willi and in some years he will probably be his successor for the job as the leader of the pack.
He started his show career in puppy class on May 16th,2004 at the Dorndorf CAC-show. Poppy finished his “apprenticeship” with success. We entered him to 8 shows where he always got “very promising” with comments like “runs like a dream” (Mrs. Wijenborg/NL, show Düsseldorf) and “covers the ground with drive” (Mrs. Sue Thompson/GB, show Verden), colourful judgements that proved that his preferences could already be seen.
That did not make Poppy the perfect Westie but we were wondering how he developed, beeing entered to the junior class. At his very first entry in junior class he got his first junior CAC and he won two further ones within a total of 7 shows. These results offered him a lifetime employment contract with our team.
Poppy now as before has best premises for his later job as the chief of our pack. Nearly nothing can make him excited and even Prinz has to accept that he has his own way. He, nevertheless, celebrates his daily playtime with Nessie and Tammy and he is still far away from being adult. Especially Nessie became Poppy’s beloved girlfriend after he was allowed to mate her during her last season in the year 2004 after he got his (temporary, due to his age) approval for breeding from the breeders association KfT.
